Influenced by a range of artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dream Theater and Elton John, Low Expectations defines their music as super vibey rock ‘n’ roll. The five teens have been playing together for just over a year at venues including The ABGB, The Hole in the Wall, Captain Quack's and Stubb's in Austin, Texas. Keyboardist and lead singer, Lilly Crowley, has been playing in rock bands since she was seven and her rich, powerful voice adds a unique effect to the band’s songs. At five years old, Gabriel Walker started learning the bass from his grandfather, Glenn Fukunaga, one of the best in the business. Gabriel is quickly following in his grandfather’s footsteps and adding his uniquely technical bass lines to the band’s songs. Drummer, Fin Chalmers, brings his love of heavy metal and hard rock to the band. He has been drumming for 5 years and constantly keeps the band laughing. Guitarist and singer, Draven Haskins started playing at age 10. Discovering 90’s rock was a game changer and he began playing everything he could from Metallica and other hard rock bands. These days he’s more into the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Polyphia and it shows in the songs he helps write for the band. Violinist and singer, Narain Khalsa, is the newest member of the band and brings an edgy and fun vibe to the group. Playing since the age of four, she brings influences ranging from classical music to punk. In addition to performing covers by bands such as Incubus, The Strokes and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the band loves playing their original music for audiences. Their song Mechanical Lettuce is out now on all streaming platforms.
